How to reconnect a dropped connection

I am working on re-connection of a user connection, after the user disconnects, due to slow internet connection. I need to get the user to connect back. The problem is, The connection is made successful, and also the re-connection is being done, but the same user when reconnected, it is adding as new connection at fms server. Below is the flex code for simple connection and re-connection.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
     <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute"       applicationComplete="init();">

You are right, each NetConnection to FMS server gets a unique FMS Id, and there is nothing you can do about that. However, you have to consider that when you connect to FMS using the command:

nc.connect(connectionURL, "user1");

you are already identifying your user to the server. The only remaining part is to receive this information in server side script:

application.onConnect = function(client, userId)
{
    // userId will contain "user1"
}

Then you can collect the information of connected users in the server side script, and determine if the new connection is a new user or a reconnection of an existing user.

Cheers!
