fancybox.open width doesn't work

Can anyone explain why the width isn't being respected?

$.fancybox.open(
    ['#notifications'],
    {
        width : '400',
        closeBtn : false, 
        helpers : {
            overlay : {closeClick: false}
        }
    }
);

Try setting autoDimensions = false

$.fancybox.open(
    ['#notifications'],
    {
        autoDimensions: false,
        width : '400',
        closeBtn : false, 
        helpers : {
            overlay : {closeClick: false}
        }
    }
);
