Mobile Detection using detectmobilebrowser

So I wanted to detect wether it's a phone, tablet or computer accessing the website. I found detectmobilebrowser.com, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it javascript there. I tried to put the code in the head section in between but that didn't work, what am I missing?

Sounds like http://wurfl.io/ is what you are looking for. Provide a JavaScript object with all info you need.

That code is somewhat dated and is unreliable because the newer versions of Android browser don't have any indication in the user agent string of being mobile any more. The latest recommendations are to design your site as 'responsive' so it looks good on any screen resolution.
