I want to color a specific cell on a JTable by entering row number and column number.
For example, I have this code that meant to color the first cell row =0 , column =0 but it is not working

You will need to implement a custom cell renderer to do this, I've adapted some old code of mine. Hopefully this should work, I've checked that it compiles, but I haven't tested it;

Instead of:

Use this piece of code:
c.setBackground((row == 0) && (column == 0) ? Color.RED : Color.WHITE);

JComponent
does not know how to set its background.
Instead, you should manually paint the colour on the component.
I suggest you create your own component:

setBackground(Color.BLACK);

g.setColor(getBackground());
g.fillRect(0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight());
}
}
You can do isSelected
validation inside your custom component, and set the colour accordingly.
