How to change ActionBar Color on AppCompat

I want to know How to change actionbar background color on AppCompat Theme. My styles file code is below

    </style>

    <!-- ActionBar styles -->
    <style name="MyActionBar"
           parent="@style/Widget.AppCompat.Light.ActionBar.Solid.Inverse">
        <item name="android:background">@drawable/actionbar_background</item>

and then change the theme in your manifest to the theme you wrote above

You should be able to define colorPrimary in AppTheme:

<style name="AppTheme" parent="AppBaseTheme">
    <item name="colorPrimary">#3f51b5</item>
</style>
