Grails long error message when build an application - BEGINNER

Question

I just created a project with Grails and ran it by typing the command. However, i ended up with a super long error message.

When i googled for a solution i bumped into this thread where they were discussing for a solution. But i have no clue how to solve it.

I think its the Java version. I am using jdk1.8.0_45.jdk. There were several other post that says Grails doesn't support jdk1.8.0_45.jdk. Help. How to resolve this ?

Yes you would have problems the way you are setup now. Grails 2.4.4 can only carry you as far as jdk8u20 or u31 if I remember correctly but not beyond. You can easily switch to Grails 2.5.0 for seamless integration with jdk8u40 and u45.

Also, if you are running them on GGTS, make sure it is v3.6.4, and that you install Groovy 2.4 from the extensions page to get the show on the road. I have the same setup both on Windows 7 and on the Mac OS X Yosemite; all work great. Let me know if you get stuck as I went through the headaches of making them tango together.

You should uninstall java8 and install the latest java 7 sdk instead.

Alternatively, install java 7 sdk alongside java 8, and set your JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to the location of java 7.
