Use JavaScript to check for valid url before redirect

If I'm redirecting a mobile page to a desktop page with this (this obviously assumes that the mobile pages are located in a mobile sub directory):

if (screen.width >= 400) {
     window.location.href = '../';
}

Am I able to first check to see if the URL is valid before its redirected?

you can send url to below function and based on return value you can know the valid status of URL.

Above pattern will not works out for IP Address...
