My toolbar is becoming invisible or disappearing when backPressed. This situation occur only if the toolbar is collapsed.
Fragment Layout
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"

android:id="@+id/main_content"

android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="@+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:minHeight="?attr/actionBarSize"

android:fitsSystemWindows="true">

Turns out my code was OK. The problem was caused by some bug on the appcompat lib. I just updated the support library to the version 22.2.1 and the issue disappeared.
compile "com.android.support:appcompat-v7:22.2.1"
compile "com.android.support:support-annotations:22.2.1"
compile "com.android.support:design:22.2.1"
compile 'com.android.support:recyclerview-v7:22.2.1'
compile 'com.android.support:cardview-v7:22.2.1'
