Error:(17, 41) error: incompatible types: View cannot be converted to WebView

Question

Ive been trying to create a button that links to webpage and found this error (Error:(17, 41) error: incompatible types: View cannot be converted to WebView).I have tried most of the solutions given but nothing works.The codings are as follows.

SettingPage.java

Here:

import android.webkit.WebView;

In SettingMain class currently importing WebView class from Android class instead of your own which is created by you.

Remove import android.webkit.WebView; import and add following import in SettingMain.java file:

import com.example.app.settings.webview.WebView;

Error:(17, 41) error: incompatible types: View cannot be converted to WebView
