added following statement but it wont work.

I have just solved the same issue. You confused librariers I think, because attributes like limit and count has only java.util.logging.FileHandler and you used child AsyncFileHandler of org.apache.juli.FileHandler. So your logging properties should look like this:

# For example, set the org.apache.catalina.util.LifecycleBase logger to log
# each component that extends LifecycleBase changing state:
#org.apache.catalina.util.LifecycleBase.level = FINE
# To see debug messages in TldLocationsCache, uncomment the following line:
#org.apache.jasper.compiler.TldLocationsCache.level = FINE
# To see debug messages for HTTP/2 handling, uncomment the following line:
#org.apache.coyote.http2.level = FINE
# To see debug messages for WebSocket handling, uncomment the following line:
#org.apache.tomcat.websocket.level = FINE
It is sufficient, because FileHandler contain property rotatable and it has default value set to true. Like as it is written in the documentation pattern for log file names is {prefix}{date}{suffix}, so every log file will be rotated at midnight by this pattern.
