I have this SQL statement :
select c.*
from tableA a
inner join tableB b on a.id = b.a_id
inner join tableC c on b.id = c.b_id
and my criteria is :
Criteria criteria = session.createCriteria(tableA.class, "a")
.createAlias("a.b", "b")
.createAlias("b.c", "c");
how can I select tableC with the criteria ?
something like -
List<tableC> listC = criteria.list()
I tried add projection .setProjection(Property.forName("c"))
but I got the follow error :

I can think of two approaches.
First approach is using Criteria.ALIAS_TO_ENTITY_MAP
as below
Criteria criteria = session.createCriteria(CnTermsGroup.class, "cnTermsGroup")
.createAlias("cnTermsGroup.cnTermsCounteds", "cnTermsCounted")
.createAlias("cnTermsCounted.cnTermsRuns", "cnTermsRuns")
.setResultTransformer(Criteria.ALIAS_TO_ENTITY_MAP);
This returns a List<Map<String, Object>>
. We can collect the required entities using the alias name
, as below, for ex: to collection CnTermsRun
entities:
List<CnTermsRun> subEntities = new ArrayList<>();
List<Map<String, Object>> objects = criteria.list();
for (Map<String, Object> record : objects) {
subEntities.add((CnTermsRun)record.get("cnTermsRuns"));
}
Second approach is using Transformers.aliasToBean(...)
as below
This returns List<CnTermsRun>
directly but requires a new constructor
to be added, along with default constructor:

this.cnTermsRunId = cnTermsRunId;
this.cnTermsCounted = cnTermsCounted;
}
And the criteria below:
