I'm trying to add a tracer to the WCF service messages using this configuration data I added the tracer using SvcConfigEditor.exe and here's the web.config generated file out of it
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
<connectionStrings>
<add name="MyContext" connectionString="Server=.;Database=MyDb;Integrated Security=true; MultipleActiveResultSets=True" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
</connectionStrings>
<appSettings>
<add key="aspnet:UseTaskFriendlySynchronizationContext" value="true" />
</appSettings>
<system.web>
<compilation debug="true" targetFramework="4.5.2" />
<httpRuntime targetFramework="4.5.2" />
<httpModules>
<add name="ApplicationInsightsWebTracking" type="Microsoft.ApplicationInsights.Web.ApplicationInsightsHttpModule, Microsoft.AI.Web" />
</httpModules>
</system.web>
<system.serviceModel>
<diagnostics>
<messageLogging logMalformedMessages="true" logMessagesAtTransportLevel="true" />
</diagnostics>
<services>
<service name="WcfService1.ManagmentService">
<endpoint name="HttpEndPoint"
binding="basicHttpBinding"
contract="WcfService1.IManagmentService" address="Services/ManagmentService.svc">
</endpoint>
<!--<endpoint address="mex"
binding="mexHttpBinding"
contract="IMetadataExchange" />-->
</service>
</services>
<behaviors>
<serviceBehaviors>
<behavior>
<!-- To avoid disclosing metadata information, set the values below to false before deployment -->
<serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true" httpsGetEnabled="true" />
<!-- To receive exception details in faults for debugging purposes, set the value below to true. Set to false before deployment to avoid disclosing exception information -->
<serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true" />
</behavior>
</serviceBehaviors>
</behaviors>
<protocolMapping>
<add binding="basicHttpsBinding" scheme="https" />
</protocolMapping>
<serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true" multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" />
</system.serviceModel>
<system.webServer>
<modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true">
<remove name="ApplicationInsightsWebTracking" />
<add name="ApplicationInsightsWebTracking" type="Microsoft.ApplicationInsights.Web.ApplicationInsightsHttpModule, Microsoft.AI.Web" preCondition="managedHandler" />
</modules>
<!--
To browse web app root directory during debugging, set the value below to true.
Set to false before deployment to avoid disclosing web app folder information.
-->
<directoryBrowse enabled="true" />
<validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" />
</system.webServer>
<entityFramework>
<defaultConnectionFactory type="System.Data.Entity.Infrastructure.SqlConnectionFactory, EntityFramework" />
<providers>
<provider invariantName="System.Data.SqlClient" type="System.Data.Entity.SqlServer.SqlProviderServices, EntityFramework.SqlServer" />
</providers>
</entityFramework>
<system.diagnostics>
<sources>
<source name="System.ServiceModel.MessageLogging" switchValue="Warning,ActivityTracing">
<listeners>
<add type="System.Diagnostics.DefaultTraceListener" name="Default">
<filter type="" />
</add>
<add name="ServiceModelMessageLoggingListener">
<filter type="" />
</add>
</listeners>
</source>
<source propagateActivity="true" name="System.ServiceModel" switchValue="Warning,ActivityTracing">
<listeners>
<add type="System.Diagnostics.DefaultTraceListener" name="Default">
<filter type="" />
</add>
<add name="ServiceModelTraceListener">
<filter type="" />
</add>
</listeners>
</source>
</sources>
<sharedListeners>
<add initializeData="D:\Documents\Visual Studio 2015\Projects\MyWeb\WcfService1\Web_messages.svclog"
type="System.Diagnostics.XmlWriterTraceListener, System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"
name="ServiceModelMessageLoggingListener" traceOutputOptions="Timestamp">
<filter type="" />
</add>
<add initializeData="D:\Documents\Visual Studio 2015\Projects\MyWeb\WcfService1\Web_tracelog.svclog"
type="System.Diagnostics.XmlWriterTraceListener, System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"
name="ServiceModelTraceListener" traceOutputOptions="Timestamp">
<filter type="" />
</add>
</sharedListeners>
<trace autoflush="true" />
</system.diagnostics>
</configuration>
but when I try to run the WCF test client I get the following exception
The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.
The configuration section 'entityFramework' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration
I really have no idea why it's throwing this exception

Because entityFramework
tag is non-standard for .NET. You need to tell it how to interpret it.
In order to do that add following section to your file (e.g. before <connectionStrings>
one:
<configSections>
<section name="entityFramework" type="System.Data.Entity.Internal.ConfigFile.EntityFrameworkSection, EntityFramework, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" requirePermission="false" />
</configSections>
