What is the difference between JCS_RGB and JCS_EXT_RGB in libjpeg?

How is JCS_EXT_RGB different from JCS_RGB, and when should I use each?

I did some search on google. And the answer may NOT be entirely correct.

JCS_RGB is a standard RGB color space. It typically uses 8 bits for each of the red, green, and blue component. While JCS_EXT_RGB is a extended RGB color space. It's also an RGB color space but allows for more flexibility in the representation. It might use more bits per component or include additional components beyond just red, green, and blue.
