I'm trying to import a Teradata table which has a composite key as primary key. Hence setting the --num mapper
1 and running it without the --split-by
parameter. However, I am running into the following issue. Please help.

you will have to use --split-by
OR --boundary-query
option, regardless of --num-mappers
OR -m
option.
Split column is not necessarily equal to PK. You can have complex PK and some int Split column. but use one of the column from composite key as --split-by
option.
--split-by
~~> Column of the table used to split work units
also try --boundry-query
+ --split-by
if above option (only --split-by
) doesn't work:
sqoop import \

By default sqoop will use query select min(<split-by>), max(<split-by>) from <table name>
to find out boundaries for creating splits. In some cases this query is not the most optimal so you can specify any arbitrary query returning two numeric columns using --boundary-query
argument.
