Alternatively you should be able to define it looser with semver:
"engines":{
"node":"^6.0.0"
},
should target the latest 6.x.x version.
Another valid way to write it would be:
"engines":{
"node":">=6.2.0 <6.5"
},
To target between 6.2.0
and 6.5.0
.
See npm's package.json engines specification.

As the node.js version 6.2.1
you chose which is not available on Azure web app.
Node.js versions available on the platform are:
`0.6.20, 0.8.2, 0.8.19, 0.8.26, 0.8.27, 0.8.28, 0.10.5, 0.10.18, 0.10.21, 0.10.24, 0.10.26, 0.10.28, 0.10.29, 0.10.31, 0.10.32, 0.10.40, 0.12.0, 0.12.2, 0.12.3, 0.12.6, 4.0.0, 4.1.0, 4.1.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2, 4.2.3, 4.2.4, 4.3.0, 4.3.2, 4.4.0, 4.4.1, 4.4.6, 4.4.7, 4.5.0, 4.6.0, 4.6.1, 5.0.0, 5.1.1, 5.3.0, 5.4.0, 5.5.0, 5.6.0, 5.7.0, 5.7.1, 5.8.0, 5.9.1, 6.0.0, 6.1.0, 6.2.2, 6.3.0, 6.5.0, 6.6.0, 6.7.0, 6.9.0.
Please try to use 6.2.2
instead, or you can try to choose one of the available versions above.
Additionally, you can refer to angular2-quickstart-on-azure for more info.
Any further concern, please feel free to let me know.
