Could not load JDBC driver class

Question

I am trying to run an example from tutorial

I downloaded the provided .zip file and modified it (I need to connect to PostgreSQLinstead of mySQL). Unfortunately I keep getting an error about not being able to load JDBC driver class. I looked at other topics on Stack Overflow but none of the solutions proposed worked for me. Below I list the solutions which I tried along with configuration

• I am using Eclipse, Tomcat v8.0, Maven and Spring. PostgreSQL version is 9.5.4. so according to the webpage I have downloaded postgresql-9.4.1212.jar as I am using Java 1.8, Windows.
• Postgres is added to my pom.xml file
• It is added to PATH of the project by project->properties->build path...
• I cannot add it to WEB-INF/lib as I have no such folder. I am new to spring hence the tutorial. If you think that it may be the solution, please give me a step by step how to add such folder to the project without starting from beginning.
• I added the .jar file directly to tomcat/lib and application/lib as well as java/jre1.8.0_77/lib/ext
• I can see the correct driver in eclipse both in JRE System Library, Maven Dependencies and Referenced Libraries

I run out of ideas what to do. Please help me.

Answer 1

In the property definition = please write: org.postgresql.Driver instead of com.postgresql.driver.

In the maven dependency, you can see the class "Driver" is in the package of org.postgresql.
