How to create semi transparent image view with map in android layout

I need to create a layout which take location as a input for signup, i need a semi-transparent imageview shown in the image attached. how can we achive it please help

You can set alpha as 

view_name.setAlpha(float_value);

With a value from 0 (transparent) to 1 (opaque). Use android:alpha=0.5 to achieve the opacity of 50%. Hope this helps you.

For imageview you can keep background of that colour

Try using this colour as back ground

 android:background="#b3000000"

here colour last 6 zeros means black colour and starting b3 means alpha or transperency you can replace b3 with what ever transperency you want here are all codes
