Magento 2: override Magento\Review\Block\Product\View not working

Question

I'm trying to override the product view review block in Magento 2, but I can't get it to work.

In the function ReviewCollection I made a small modification:

This modification is working from the core files, but not in my custom module. I also tried to return 'test' from this function, but I can't get it to work.

Is there someone who sees the problem?

You should modify you app/code/[Package]/CombineReviews/etc/module.xml with following code.

<config xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="../../../../../lib/internal/Magento/Framework/Module/etc/module.xsd">
    <module name="[Package]_CombineReviews" setup_version="1.0.0" schema_version="1.0.0">
        <sequence>
            <module name="Magento_Review" />
        </sequence>
    </module>
</config>

Change the path of file from app/code/[Package]/CombineReviews/Block/Magento/Review/Product/View.php to app/code/[Package]/CombineReviews/Block/Product/View.php.

Run setup: upgrade and static-content: deploy commands and check. Hope this should work.
