Install Ruby Using RVM on Virtual Machine Running Debian Failed Silently

Question

I've successfully installed a Debian guest operating system on a Vista host using VirtualBox. I'm trying to follow this tutorial(http://ryanbigg.com/2010/12/ubuntu-ruby-rvm-rails-and-you) to install RVM and Ruby. It appears to install ruby successfully, but the terminal will not recognise ruby at all.

Here is the terminal output:

I have no idea what went wrong or how to proceed here. I'd appreciate any insight anyone could offer.

$ rvm 1.9.2

will do the trick.

If you want to make this stick between shell sessions: rvm use --default 1.9.2

Try rvm use 1.9.2. Right now it's probably defaulting to the system ruby, and if you don't have a system ruby, well, it's defaulting to nothing.
