Error in serving jsp page in spring controller spring boot?

I am relatively new to Spring and so I was just trying to render a jsp page from my spring controller. However, I keep getting a white label error page.I have tried almost every possible means to resolve the error but I cant seem to figure out what's causing this 404. Any suggestions

 This application has no explicit mapping for /error, so you are seeing this as a fallback.

Please check if you have right dependencies set into your build file.

Ensure that you have jasper and jstl in the list of dependencies:

<dependency>
    <groupId>org.apache.tomcat.embed</groupId>
    <artifactId>tomcat-embed-jasper</artifactId>
    <scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
    <groupId>javax.servlet</groupId>
    <artifactId>jstl</artifactId>
</dependency>
