Angular 5 import Google gapi witn @types/gapi.auth2 not working

I have a project in Angular 5 and I am trying to implement the signin with Google gapi.auth2 library. I am stuck with this error:

ERROR in ./src/app/signin.service.ts
Module not found: Error: Can't resolve 'gapi.auth2' in 'C:\Users\Javier\workspace\angular-tour-of-heroes\src\app'

The error seems to be related to the way I am importing the library in the service.
My implementation consists of adding "@types/gapi.auth2": "0.0.47", to the package.json file through npm install --save @types/gapi.auth2. Adding the import gapi.auth2 to the signin.service.ts which is the Angular service where I am trying to call the gapi from.

The full error can be seen in travis:
https://travis-ci.org/javiersvg/angular-tour-of-heroes/builds/345909136
or by clonning the repo from here:
https://github.com/javiersvg/angular-tour-of-heroes/tree/google-signin
and running npm start.

Could you help me figure out what I am doing wrong?

Thank you very much.

OK what solved the issue was adding the gapi.auth2 to the tsconfig.app.json

{
  "extends": "../tsconfig.json",
  "compilerOptions": {
    "outDir": "../out-tsc/app",
    "baseUrl": "./",
    "module": "es2015",
    "types": ["gapi.auth2"]
  },
  "exclude": [
    "test.ts",
    "**/*.spec.ts"
  ]
}

you can see tho build working now here: https://travis-ci.org/javiersvg/angular-tour-of-heroes/builds/354845829

Thank you very much
