jenkins pipeline git checkout not working

I have a pipeline stage where i checkout the code from Bitbucket/GIT, But, Everything looks good expect the code did not get checked out.

My checkout snippet

And when execute the above in Jenkins i see the following logs where no code being checked out and my further stages fail on this.

You can checkout your repository by using declarative syntax (since you're working with stages)

    stage('Checkout') {
        steps {
            git branch: 'develop', credentialsId: 'xxxx', url: 'ssh://git@server/project.git'
        }
    }
