<!-- Step 5: Define Spring MVC view resolver -->
<bean
class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver">

</beans>
web.xml
xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_3_1.xsd" id="WebApp_ID" version="3.1">

</init-param>

</servlet>
<!-- Step 2: Set up URL mapping for Spring MVC Dispatcher Servlet -->

package com.luv2code.springdemo.mvc;
import org.springframework.stereotype.Controller;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.RequestMapping;
@Controller
public class HomeController {
@RequestMapping("/home")
public String showPage() {
return "main-menu";

I had the same error and the solution is to simply look at the component scan tag in the spring-mvc-demo-servlet.xml
file. You're using the instructor's com.luv2code
yet your package name
is different.

I have tried the same code all you have to do is
<context:component-scan base-package="com.sample.springdemo" />
i.e the package name
http://localhost:8081/Test/home will work perfectly fine.
also please look into below link if that is what you need HTTP Status 404 - on Eclipse with Tomcat
