I want to fill color to svg image in percentage

Here is moon svg image I want to fill white color base on the illumination percentage on moon

90% 80% 70% and so on

You can calculate intersection points of two circles and construct corresponding path.

Something like this:

Moon Lighting Animation Example

I would do this using black circle animation, which gradually opens and closes the light circle again.

I would do this with a mask. So I can make an elliptical shadow.
