Constraint Layout not wrap content properly

Anyone know why this isn't wrapping content properly? Something to do with the gradient and the way the label_view is constrained is causing it to match parent somehow?

Thats just a snippet of the offending parties.

I must really be having a slow day. I was backwardly setting the centre.

I was doing 

app:layout_constraintTop_toBottomOf="@id/gradient"
app:layout_constraintBottom_toTopOf="@+id/gradient"

But I should be doing 

app:layout_constraintTop_toTopOf="@id/gradient"
app:layout_constraintBottom_toBottomOf="@id/gradient"
