'folly/Portability.h' file not found React library

Question

Running into a build failure on Xcode with my react native project. the error is 'folly/Portability.h' file not found

I have been trying to fix this issue on my own for the last few days but unable resolve it.

Tried removing the pods folder and reinstalling them and removing node-modules folder

by adding these my problem is resolved successfully.

To fix the issue you should make two things:

1) Add CxxBridge subspec

2) Point DoubleConversion and glog dependencies specs directly for Folly

Add the following to your Podfile inside target 'WhosThat_app' do:

target 'WhosThat_app' do

  # ...everything else

  post_install do |installer|
    installer.pods_project.targets.each do |target|
      if target.name == 'React'
        target.remove_from_project
      end
    end
  end

I didn't need the following line and believe you can remove it:

pod 'Folly', podspec: '../node_modules/react-native/third-party-podspecs/Folly.podspec'

Notes:

• Solution works for React Native version 59.
• Found the solution here and tested that it worked.
