Why keeps flutter crashing with this simple initState code?

class _HomeScreenState extends State<HomeScreen> {
  String uid = "";

  @override
  void initState() {
    FirebaseAuth.instance.currentUser().then((user) {
      setState(() {
        uid = user.uid;
        super.initState();
      });
    });
  }

I run the latest version of Flutter, and have never experienced any of these issues before. Flutter completes the xcode build, opens up on the emulator but only with a white screen, and 1 second later Flutter crashes with these exceptions:

Anyone who is able to tell me what I'm doing wrong?

super.initState() must be called independently from the rest of the code in your initState() method.

  @override
  void initState() {
    FirebaseAuth.instance.currentUser().then((user) {
      setState(() {
        uid = user.uid;
      });
    });
    super.initState();
  }

Please remove super.initstate() from the setstate that would solve it : )
