How do you create a UITextView with blocks and zoom in effect (like the Essayist App)

I would like to achieve the zoom in effect like how the Essayist app implements it. I would also like to know how to split a textview into chunks/paragraphs/blocks, just like the app. I really don't have a clue as to how I can achieve the zoom-in effect (and keep the text sharp as well) and how to split the text view into chunks.
