Font style doesn't change in my website with the Chrome setting?

If I change the default display font settings in Chrome (Settings > Appearance > Customise fonts) to anything different but default. My webpage does show the change in font.

How it should look like Default/Changed (Times New Roman/Cascadia Code):

Example of a font change on Wikipedia

The font of the page does not change despite changed settings for the font.

I am not sure if this is related to what you are going through but I had an issue with mine as well. Any page that I loaded with the default font(which was fine for me), all of a sudden then switch to a font that I did not like at ALL!! No matter what font I chose in settings it didn't change to that font. I even went as far as downloading a font extension to change the fonts but that didn't work either. I ended up doing a reset of my settings which worked but removed my extensions, so I enabled all of them that is when I saw the fonts go back to the one I hated. So I started disabling/enabling each one. I finally narrowed it down to the Speechify extension, as soon as I disabled it, the fonts went back to normal.

I hope this helps

The font of a webpage is determined by the CSS styles defined in the HTML code of the page. Changing the default font settings in your browser only affects the font used for the UI elements of the browser and not for the webpages.

To change the font of a webpage, you need to update the CSS styles for that page to use the desired font. This can be done by adding a font-family property to the CSS styles for the elements you want to change the font for.
