I'm making a portfolio site in githubs-pages. This project requires to install a couple of packages. I'm using a Windows machines with Windows 10 installed. I'm following the instructions on the github website to install Jekyll and Bundle here:
So I following the steps of the instructions step by step. The first step is the installation of 2 packages: Ruby and Bundle.
ridk install
and the next step was run gem install jekyll bundler
in a new command prompt that is not in the project path. Then I ran the other steps. I created the repository and the folder for my project. When i get the step 13 I use Bundle Install
. When i do that the command prompt shows this error:
Gem::Ext::BuildError: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.

Has anybody seen this error before?

Si i figured out what the problem was. I commented out the field in the Gemfile for the wdm gem gem "wdm", "~> 0.1.1", :platforms => [:mingw, :x64_mingw, :mswin]
. I ran Bundle install and it worked. My website was built.
