Why am I getting "Invalid phone number" error with Sagemaker studio lab?

I am trying to use Sagemaker studio lab , however when i enter my phone number to start runtime, i get the error "This phone number is invalid". I have an UK phone number and I enter +44 at the beginning. Why is it not working?
