Why does Windows OS flag TinyUSB HID+MSC composite devices as ‘unrecognized’

I’m developing a custom USB composite device (HID keyboard + MSC storage) on a Raspberry Pi Pico using TinyUSB in C. When I plug it, I get a pop-up: “USB Drive Not Recognized”

Despite these warnings, the MSC drive eventually mounts (FAT32 accessible)
