Calendly API to book meetings on someone's calendar

Question

Is there a way the backend of my application can view meeting slots and book them for a particular user's calendly? I assume this user would need to provide us an auth token but the documentation on Calendly is confusing as to where me (a third party, partner app) of the user can schedule meetings through an api.
