Enable Wake Lock on Buildfire

Is there a way to enable wake lock in Buildfire or a similar solution to keep the screen from dimming/turning off while a plugin is open?

I've tried using the WakeLock API as well as playing looped audio/video, but none of the solutions have worked across both Android and iOS. A deal breaker would be stopping audio playing on the device from other apps. The attempt to play a video resulted in the video opening in full screen on iOS.

From some research online, it seems that Cordova can prevent some of the issues I've encountered while testing some of the workarounds, but they require modifications to the config.xml.

I'd appreciate insight to any potential solutions or if it's a feature that Buildfire can implement.
