I have been using the SpecFlow extension for Visual Studio 2022, but recently I noticed that it is no longer available for download and installation from the Visual Studio Marketplace. It seems like it has been removed recently.
Details:
Visual Studio Version: 2022
Issue: The extension is not available on the Visual Studio Marketplace. Steps Taken: Checked the Visual Studio Marketplace for the extension. Searched online for any announcements or updates regarding the extension. Tried to find alternative download sources. Questions:
Has the SpecFlow extension for Visual Studio 2022 been officially removed from the Marketplace? If so, is there an alternative way to download and install the extension?
I have checked official website as well but they have removed page itself. docs.specflow.org
This is the current Picture.

From: https://reqnroll.net/news/2025/01/specflow-end-of-life-has-been-announced/
In December 2024, Tricentis announced the end-of-life of the SpecFlow open source project. According to the announcement, SpecFlow reached its end-of-life on December 31, 2024. As of 1st January, the SpecFlow GitHub projects are deleted and the support section of the specflow.org website is disabled.
SpecFlow will no longer be available after December 31, 2024.” (specflow.org)
While the announcement was on a short notice, the SpecFlow project has showed no activity in the last two years and Tricentis has never publicly commented the users questions about the future of SpecFlow. This was the reason why they started with the Reqnroll project in the beginning of 2024. More about that below.
You can find the VSIX of the latest version of the Visual Studio 2022 extension (the one that supports .NET8) attached below: SpecFlow.VisualStudio.Package.2022.1.93.zip
