Is there a way to input a value into a workflow while its running? I want the reason of rejection

SO that thing is i have a workflow for leave approvals and it works great, but now my boss wants it so that when u reject it should be given with a reason for rejection which makes sense. So i tried implementing it, and it works somewhat, like when i press rn in the app a pop up comes asking for a reason and then after the user presses the submit button for that pop box the task gets rejects and the workflow moves on. Now what i want is to get the reason value from that reason text box and make it usable in my workflow to insert it into a table. It seems simple but idk what to do
