Cursor IDE doesn't restore unsaved files on upgrade like VSCode does?

Question

When VSCode either restarts or upgrades it restores all unsaved files to their previous state, however Cursor (a VSCode fork) appears to delete all unsaved files when it upgrades. Cursor does maintain unsaved files across restarts, but not upgrades. Maybe there's a flag I'm missing somewhere?

EDIT: maybe I am hitting some kind of bug? It seems when I upgrade via the dropdown menu Cursor->Restart to Update it restores unsaved files, if I click the popup Click to update, it does not restore unsaved files, though may give an alert "unsaved changes will be lost"...which seems silly since the dropdown menu method appears to handle unsaved files fine with no alert.
