Excel Data Model: Can I create virtual tables on the fly other than date tables?

I learned that I can create a "virtual" date table from an existing table using the Power Pivot Data Model window and clicking Design > Date Table > New in the Ribbon. AFAIK, that date table is not stored outside of the Data Model vault.

I'd like to create other sorts of such lookup tables. Can I create other such tables, too, without making use of external sources or Excel worksheet tables?

There is nothing "virtual" about those tables, they are as real as any other tables and they are called calculated tables and yes, you can create them "on the fly", see Create calculated tables in Power BI Desktop
