Sitecore Experience Editor Freezing Randomly – Elements Not Interactive

Question

I’m facing an issue with Sitecore Experience Editor where it randomly becomes unresponsive. About 1 out of 10 times, it works as expected, showing options like "Add Here", placeholders, and interactive elements. However, most of the time (9 out of 10 times), the Experience Editor loads the page but does not allow element interaction.

• What works: I can still edit text inline.
• What doesn’t work: I cannot interact with elements or placeholders; no "Add Here" options appear.
• No errors: There are no errors in the browser console or Sitecore logs that indicate any issue.
• Observation: When the Experience Editor works correctly, elements have the scEnabledChrome attribute in the Elements tab (Chrome DevTools). When it doesn’t work, this attribute is missing.

Environment Details:

• Sitecore Version: 10.4
• Frontend Framework: Next.js 14.1.0
• Rendering Host Setup: Sitecore Headless with Next.js

This issue is completely random, making it difficult to debug. Has anyone faced a similar problem, or does anyone have suggestions on what might be causing this behavior?
