How to ensure images do not overflow in docx files when adding images in docx file using docx4j by embedding alt chunk?

When an image is added to HTML as an img tag and this HTML is then embedded into a docx file using docx4j as altchunk. The image overflows the docx page boundaries as shown here: Overflowing image in docx file

I tried adding max-width and max-height to the image tag element, but it did not work.
