Using a cell reference to multiple sheets within a function

Hope someone can help. I've searched for this but haven't found an answer that I can get to work. I'm using Google Sheets and I want to check the data in A1 against column A1 in multiple sheets in the work book. The sheets are named by date ie 2/1,2/2,etc. I have a set of cells that calculates today's date and the past 7 days and enters it into say, F1:F7. I want to use this reference in the function for the sheet names instead of hard coding the sheet names into the function.

I have tried, march, countif, indirect, arrays etc. I can only get it to work if I use 1 sheet name, hard coded into the function.

Hope this makes sense.
