Failed to test the connection to your data source. Please retry your credentials

I have connected Power BI desktop to a SharePoint list using the below connection settings:

I have been able to create the query and the visuals in Power BI desktop. However, when I publish the report to the Power BI Service I get an error:

If I then go to the settings of the semantic model, I can see a further error:

If I try to edit the credentials of the problematic data source, the only authentication methods available are: Anonymous, OAuth2, and Service Principal. Neither of these serves my purpose as I would need to be able to use my organizational account.

Any clues on what might be going on? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
